Over the last 20 years, Alexa Interiors has expanded into a strong team of interior designers and drafters - all with a passion for design and client relationships.
MEET THE TEAM
Our passion for design starts with our relationships with each of our clients. We take the time to listen to your goals, learn what inspires you, observe how you live, and determine what you need to turn your dreams into reality. We look forward to helping you with your next project!
OWNER & PRINCIPAL DESIGNER
Originally from Canada, Alexa has been in CO since 2000 where her two children grew up in Evergreen, alongside golden retrievers and orange kittens. Alexa has worked in residential design for 20+ years and absolutely loves the relationships she gets to be a part of when helping clients with their spaces. She is a huge fan of texture and organic design elements that create timeless backdrops that help houses become homes. Alexa's great passion for design, as well as her understanding of design psychology, help create personal design experiences for each and every client!
When not working at the design studio or new retail shop in Evergreen, she loves an ocean escape to refill her soul, but can also be found spending time with her grown kids, travelling, cycling and most importantly, laughing with friends.
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS
Katie is a transplant from the Midwest who fell in love with her semi-annual family vacations to Colorado - so she moved here in 1998 and has never looked back! Katie is a mom to three girls, two black labs and is married to the only guy who was crazy enough to agree with her adventure-filled life! Katie worked in the CO music business for many years until she was able to follow her dream of Interior Design and joined the AI team in 2016. Katie loves being behind the scenes and chasing the design details needed to make the AI designs come to life!
Born and raised in the Midwest, Kim is a mom to three kids, married to a fellow Midwesterner and now happily lives in Evergreen! Kim has worked for over 20 years in commercial and residential design and is a huge fan of good space plans, a mix of natural materials, and ZERO clutter! Some of Kim's favorite things include: repurposing a good thrift-store find, organizing everything from drawers to pantries, and the art of gift wrapping and letter writing. Kim is always looking for a new favorite paint color and can't help walking into a space, seeing the potential, and eyeing where to put a throw pillow - and a succulent.
Kate moved to Evergreen from Missoula, Montana a few years ago - where she co-owned a custom furniture company and worked as an interior designer for the last 15 years. Kate loves the chance to curate a space using surprising textures, objects, and collections that have a story to tell. She loves adding a little something vintage to any sleek and modern design - or mixing something unexpectedly modern into mountain decor. Her side projects have included artistic window displays, made-to-order antler wreaths, and plenty of sewing projects when the fabric is inspiring! When she’s not busy designing, Kate focuses on her two nearly-grown kids, music, and lots of time spent outdoors.
Sarah and her husband made the move ‘out west’ 24 years ago to Seattle. The last 14 have been spent in Evergreen with their four children. Interior design has been an integral part of her life for almost 30 years - from schooling in art/design, to creating/selling art, to her extensive career in both commercial and residential design. She applies her passion for color, love of space planning and eye for design to every project. Sarah loves clean lines, sophisticated color palettes and high functioning yet beautiful spaces. Her mission is always to create environments that are as unique as each client and tell the story of who they are. Sarah is also a glass artist and painter, avid skier, biker, and triathlete who is always up for any adventure!
Clara is a transplant from Texas, but loves calling Colorado her new home! Before relocating to Colorado, she owned Salvage Sisters, a design and home furnishings store in Waco, Texas - where she specialized in residential design, custom-built furniture, and antique restoration. Clara loves using antiques, architectural salvage, and modern elements in her designs. She is a mom to two boys, four crazy dogs, and wife to her husband of 14 years. In her spare time, Clara enjoys building furniture, spending time outdoors with her family, and browsing antique markets for unique finds.
As a child, Julia would use shoe boxes to create 3D models of houses. This love of space planning led to a BA degree in Interior Design from Purdue University, 20 subsequent years working in commercial interiors, and NCIDQ and LEED AP certifications. After graduation, Julia moved to Denver and eventually put down roots in Ken Caryl, where she now raises her three daughters with her husband. When she isn’t sitting at her computer or doing all of the mom things, Julia spends her free time playing tennis, road and mountain biking, snowboarding, hiking, traveling, and hitting the live music scene. Using her computer drafting skills and attention to detail, Julia enjoys helping the team take a design concept from a client’s inspirations to installations.
Originally from the Midwest, Julie moved to Colorado 22 years ago and currently resides in Breckenridge. She attended Michigan State University where she received a BA in Interior Design. With more than 20 years of extensive experience in commercial design, Julie is excited to pivot into the residential design world! Her meticulous methods enable her to stay organized and structured throughout each project. She enjoys space planning and uses computer-aided drawing software to help the design team carry their visions into reality. In her free time, Julie loves to ski, hike, mountain bike, and spend time with her daughter, dog, family and friends.
